The University of Dundee is a public research university based in the city and royal burgh of Dundee on the east coast of the central Lowlands of Scotland. Founded in 1881 the institution was, for most of its early existence, a constituent college of the University of St Andrews alongside United College and St Mary’s College.
The University of Dundee is a highly attractive place to conduct doctoral research: We are one of the World’s Top 200 universities, according to Times Higher Education. We are also ranked among Europe’s most innovative universities, coming top in the UK in the Nature Innovation Index 2017 and in the top five among Reuters’ ‘Most Innovative Universities’.
