Study in Taiwan: I-Shou University Admission And Scholarship Application For Undergraduate And Graduates.

International students who wish to study in English can now apply for admission and scholarships at I-Shou University. Formerly known as Kaohsiung Polytechnic Institute (KPI), I-Shou University (ISU) is a private university in Dashu District, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Step 1: Decide which department and program you want to enroll in

  • A completed and signed application form
  • Photocopy of the passport or the proof of nationality
  • Academic credentials (a certificate of enrollment, a degree diploma (or graduation certificate), or the proof of having an adequate level of education)
  • An official academic transcript
  • A financial statement
  • English proficiency certificate (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, GEPT) (only for applicants from non-English speaking countries). Those with an IELTS band score of 5.0 or higher will be given high admission priority
  • A personal statement written in English

Graduates degree program admission requirements
  • A completed and signed application form
  • Photocopy of the passport or the proof of nationality
  • Academic credentials (a certificate of enrollment, a degree diploma (or graduation certificate), or the proof of having an adequate level of education)
  • An official academic transcript
  • A financial statement

  • An academic achievement certificate (e.g., GMAT, GRE)
  • Two recommendation letters in English

Step 3: Apply online

Complete an application form on the International Student Application System.



Step 4: Send a complete application packet to ISU either by email, fax or post

Print out the completed application form and submit it together with all required documents to ISU.

  • A financial statement issued by a bank within the most recent three months (in sealed envelope) as the proof of adequate financial support to cover the costs of studying at ISU (the account balance should be US$4,000 or NT$100,000 or more)
  • If the financial statement is not in the name of the applicant, a financial affidavit and a financial statement in the name of the sponsor must be provided
  • An applicant who has received an external scholarship should submit the proof of full scholarship.   




ISU International Student Scholarship

The scholarship amount for new international students ranges between NT$40,000 and NT$180,000 per person. The scholarship amount will be equally divided by two and awarded in two separate semesters after being approved by the Scholarship Committee for International Students.

The scholarship awards are classified below:
  • NT$120,000/year to cover full tuition fee
  • Tuition and incidental fees for 2 semesters
  • NT$60,000/year to cover partial tuition fee
  • 50% discount of tuition and incidental fees for 2 semesters

Scholarship requirements
  • Application form
  • Transcript from highest education or the percentage rank in class when graduating Scores on standardized exams (if applicable)
  • One copy of curriculum vitae
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Other certificates or proof of awards and extracurricular activities.
