Study In Thailand: King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang. 2018 Scholarship Application for Graduate Programmes.

King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL or KMIT Ladkrabang) is delighted to offer graduate international students scholarship to pursue any programmes of their choice. The scholarship is a tuition fee scholarship covering full tuition fee and also renewable in the next academic year. Click here for KMITL fully funded undergraduate scholarship.

Graduates programmes available
  • M.Eng. in Automotive Engineering
  • M.Eng. in Computing in Engineering Systems
  • M.Sc. in Logistics and Supply Chain Management
  • Ph.D. in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
Graduates programmes requirements
  • Applicant must hold a Bachelor’s degree of either Engineering or Science in an appropriate discipline (Automotive, Mechanical, Electrical, Metallurgical, Control, Electronic, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Materials, Geology, Environmental, Industrial, Agro-Industrial, Forestry, Production Forestry, Computer etc.) or to be awarded a Bachelor’s degree before the start of Academic Year 2018.
  • Applicant must have the latest grade point average (GPA) of his/her undergraduate study of at least 2.75 or have 2-year experience in relevant research/work as deemed acceptable by the admission committee.
  • Applicant must have a good English language proficiency. All applicants, except those who have studied for two years or longer in an education institute outside Thailand in which the main language of instruction is English, are required to provide a proof of English language proficiency in the form of a score report for one of the following standardized English language tests: IELTS, TOEFL, TOEIC, CU-TEP, or TU-GET, with the minimum score as specified below:
  1. TOEFL (paper-based) with the score of at least 475
  2. TOEFL (CBT) with the score of at least 153
  3. TOEFL (IBT) with the score of at least 53
  4. CU-TEP with the score of at least 60
  5. TU-GET with the score of at least 500
  6. IELTS with the score of at least 4.5
  7. TOEIC with the score of at least 550
  8. KU exam with the score of at least 50
Please note that only the score for a test taken within two years before the application date will be considered.

Tuition fee
Every student in the program is provided with a scholarship which covers the tuition fees for 2 years of study, subject to an annual review by the program committee. For Thai students, the scholarships are sponsored by NSTDA. For overseas students, the scholarships are sponsored by the International College, KMITL. Scholarship holders are required to follow the terms and conditions of the scholarships specified by the scholarship sponsors.

How to apply

  • Application: Fill online application form before June 5, 2018
  • Interview: The interview is to be conducted at the TAIST – Tokyo Tech office in Thailand. Applicant who does not live in Thailand may request for an interview via video conference before June 14, 2018
  • Announcement of acceptance: The list of the accepted applicants will be announced on the website of the TAIST.
  • Enrollment confirmation: All accepted applicants are required to confirm their intent to enroll during the specified period.  
  • Start dateAugust 1, 2018.
Scholarship

International College Graduate Scholarship
The International College Graduate Scholarship is awarded to selected new graduate students every year. The scholarship provides financial aid in the form of tuition exemption throughout the entire study period in a graduate program at the International College.

Duration: entire normal study period at the International College, KMITL (excluding the semester(s) during an approved leave of absence)

Number of awards: 1 - 2 for each graduate program (to be confirmed in each year)

Value of award: Full tuition fee

Eligibility
For the applicant of a Masters program:
  • The applicant has been admitted into a Masters degree program or a 4 + 1 combined Bachelor-Masters program at the International College and is beginning his/her study at the Masters level in the upcoming academic year.
  • The applicant is choosing Plan A (research pathway) in his/her Masters study.
  • The applicant has graduated or is expected to graduate from a Bachelor degree program with a grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.0 out of 4.0 (or equivalent).
For the applicant of a doctoral program:
  • The applicant has been admitted into a doctoral degree program at the International College and is beginning his/her study at the doctoral level in the upcoming academic year.
  • The applicant has graduated or is expected to graduate EITHER from a Masters degree program with a grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.5 out of 4.0 (or equivalent) OR from a Bachelor degree program (but has not begun a graduate study) with a grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.5 out of 4.0 (or equivalent).

Conditions:
  • The awardee must maintain the grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.30 in every semester during their study period.
  • In every semester, the awardee is required to do research or work as a teaching assistant or a research assistant at the International College for at least 20 hours/week in each normal semester (excluding the semester(s) during an approved leave of absence). At the end of each semester, the awardee is required to submit a brief report to the scholarship committee summarizing the works carried out in the semester.

Application submission instruction for non-Thai applicants.
The application can be made free-of-charge. Please follow the steps below to prepare and submit an application.
  1. Complete and submit the online application form.
  2. Prepare the supporting documents listed below. Please include your name and your Application ID number on each document submitted.
  • A photocopy of the applicant's national identification card or passport
  • A photocopy of the applicant's name-change certificate (if any)
  • Latest official academic transcript
  • If the applicant has already graduated, a final official transcript should be sent with the application. Otherwise, the applicant should send the latest official transcript available at the time the application is made, and if there is any subsequent update, the applicant is required to bring the most up-to-date official transcript on the day of the interview. The applicant may send a photocopy of his/her academic transcript with the application instead of an original one, in which case the applicant is required to bring an original copy of the official transcript on the day of the interview.
  • Standardized-test score reports (if required)
  • A photocopy of the score report for each applicable standardized test in mathematics and/or English language should be sent with the application. However, in case a score report is not available at the time the application is made, the applicant must indicate in his/her application form which test the applicant is waiting for the result, and then send a copy of the score report to the International College once the test result becomes available. The applicant is required to bring the original score report on the day of the interview and present it to the examiners.
  • An academic portfolio (if any)
  • Applicant may send his/her academic portfolio and any additional supporting document with the application. Alternatively, the applicant can bring those documents on the day of the interview and present them to the examiners.
