Masaryk University – Czech Republic: Requirements, Application And Deadline.

Masaryk University is the second largest university in the Czech Republic. It is a member of the Compostela Group and the Utrecht Network. Founded in 1919 in Brno as the second Czech university (after Charles University), it now consists of nine faculties and approximately 35,000 students. The university offers high quality education at an affordable cost. As of 2014, Masaryk University has over 35,000 students and more than 2,200 staff and offers over 200 bachelor, 290 masters and 130 doctoral full-time study programs. The university is a highly research-intensive institution. It puts "a great deal of emphasis on international cooperation with prestigious foreign universities and [other] research institutions". The university has maintained its position within the world best 600 universities for years 2016-2018.

How to Apply for Bachelor Programs
In the online application form you also find all details about a degree program and admission requirements with the full list of literature for the entrance exam, if applicable

A complete application means: submit the online application form, cover the application fee of 300 CZK (via bank card or bank transfer), and send us all documents for evaluation.

You can submit the documents through the online application form (you see 6 slots called Appendix 1 etc., if you click at edit, you see the descriptions of all of them, all files must be clearly named pdf files, more pages must be scanned into one pdf document)

The documents required are:
  • cover letter of 500 words (in English)
  • essay – 1,500-word essay on a foreign policy or international politics topic of your own choice (in English)
  • secondary school certificate or current proof of studies
  • transcripts of grades from secondary school
  • proof of English (if you do not have a certificate, submit an honest statement)
  • ID or passport copy

Admissions - English-taught Programs
The next steps of the admission process and entrance conditions will be communicated to you through the online application and by a letter/email from the University. You can track the status of your application by yourself via the online application system anytime.

To be accepted, the applicant must have completed secondary school with a graduation exam. Admission takes place on the grounds of a cover letter in English (c. 500 words), essay on an international policy topic of applicant’s own choice in English (1,500 words) and proof of language competence on the B2 level of the European Referential Framework of Languages. You will upload all your documents via the online application.

All documents are evaluated by the admission committee and in some cases, entrance interviews are arranged to verify motivation and the level of English. Applicants with complete application receive official decision on admission and all admitted students also receive documents for visa purposes and other supporting documents.

If you have a prior degrees issued abroad and wish to enroll at the university, you are required to obtain an official document confirming that your degree is recognized in the Czech Republic.

Study in Finland: Reviews On Savonia University of Applied Sciences. Admission Application, Requirements and Entrance Exam.

Savonia University of Applied Sciences (UAS) is a local municipality-owned Finnish institution of higher education based in the cities of Kuopio, Iisalmi and Varkaus. Savonia offers bachelor's and master's degree programmes with engineering being the largest field of education. It is the sixth largest University of Applied Sciences in Finland with about 6,500 students, 250 of whom are international students. While most of the instruction is in Finnish, there are four programs leading to bachelor's degrees which are taught in English.

Eligibility
Eligibility to apply for higher education studies can be obtained with:
  • a degree or qualification completed outside Finland, which gives eligibility for higher education in the awarding country (e.g. a high school diploma, an upper general certificate of education, a higher secondary school certificate).
  • applicant must submit copies of original final certificate and transcript of records used as the basis for application. The qualification must be completed by the end of the application period.
  • if the language of the certificate is in language other than Finnish, Swedish or English, an official translation must also be submitted. The translation must be signed and stamped by the authorized translator.
  • admission is conditional until Savonia UAS has checked the applicant’s original final degree certificates (and translations if needed) in September when studies begin. If an applicant fails to submit the original certificate by the set date he / she will lose the study place in Savonia UAS.

Health requirements (for those applying to degree programme in Nursing)
Those applying to study in the field of Health Care and Social Services must have a sufficient good health status and functional capacity to be capable of completing practical assignments and work placement periods as part of the studies.

How to apply
Savonia UAS is participating with the joint application to higher education in the first application period. In joint application, applicants can apply to 6 study programme choices with one application form. The first application period is targeted at international applicants who have completed the upper secondary education outside Finland.
  • Complete and fill in the online application form during the application period;
  • Upload required documents such as school leaving certificate, SAT test score, etc to the application portal;
  • Submit your application form.

Student Selection
Student selection of Nursing is based on pretask and interview. Applicants applying to Nursing must submit the pretask (online questionnaire). Applicants must also send a
recent photo of themselves, preferably a portrait, to Savonia UAS Admission Services.
The photo will be attached to applicant's pretask and used during the possible Skype interview.

Student selection of International Business, Mechanical Engineering and Internet of Things is based on either the SAT test or the entrance exam result. An applicant can choose whether she / he wants to apply with a SAT score or with an enrance exam result. An applicant can also participate to the student selection in both ways.

SAT requirements
Savonia UAS requires applicants to take the SAT test which includes Reading test, Writing and Language test and Math test. Essay is not required. Please note that SAT Subject Tests are not accepted. Only new SAT scores taken after 1 March 2016 are accepted. Savonia UAS requires a minimum score of 400 from Evidence-Based Reading and Writing, and 400 from Mathematics.

Entrance examination
All eligible applicants will be invited to the entrance exam. An applicant must inform on the application form where he / she will participate the entrance.

Study in Hungary: The University of Debrecen Application Procedure, Requirements And Deadlines.

Application to apply for admission is now available for international students to study at The University of Debrecen. Prospective students can now apply for Bachelor, Master and PhD programmes offered at the university. The University of Debrecen is a university located in Debrecen, Hungary. It is the oldest continuously operating institution of higher education in Hungary (since 1538). The university has a well established programme in the English language for international students, particularly in the Medical field, which first established education in English in 1986. There are nearly 4000 international students studying at the university.

Required documents
The following documents need to be submitted during the application procedure:
  • Valid, filled-in and signed application form;
  • Certificate of education (school leaving qualification, high school diploma, document of graduation or any equivalent; university or college diploma/ certificate or any equivalent);
  • Students just about to complete their studies are required to send their transcript(s) to the Coordinating Center for International Education along with their final diplomas as soon as they receive it, and finally present the original document(s) during registration;

  • a written test (comprised of multiple-choice questions, definitions, calculations, etc.) in:

* Chemistry/Physics: if the student’s chosen subject is Chemistry, essentially the test will
contain questions from Chemistry, and he/she will have to answer only a few basic level Physics questions, and vice versa (each test takes 30 minutes).
  • an oral exam in Biology and Physics/Chemistry.

An entrance interview is compulsory in case of the following programs:

[Free Tuition] Study in Norway: Reviews On University of Oslo.

The University of Oslo is the oldest university in Norway, located in the Norwegian capital of Oslo. Until 1 January 2016 it was the largest Norwegian institution of higher education in terms of size, now surpassed only by the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. The Academic Ranking of World Universities has ranked it the 58th best university in the world and the third best in the Nordic countries. In 2015, the Times Higher Education World University Rankings ranked it the 135th best university in the world and the seventh best in the Nordics. While in its 2016, Top 200 Rankings of European universities, the Times Higher Education listed the University of Oslo at 63rd, making it the highest ranked Norwegian university. The University of Oslo offers several Master's programmes in English however, bachelor's degree programmes are offered in Norwegian language. The University of Oslo does not charge tuition fee from both local and international students.

Admission Requirements

Only applicants who meet the admission requirements are qualified. Your application will be rejected if you are not qualified. Please note that you can apply to up to two prioritized study programmes.

Below are the required documents
  • Bachelor's degree certificate and transcript: prospective students must upload their first degree certificate in relevant field to the application portal.
  • Proof of financing: you must document your ability to finance your stay in Norway in order to be granted a student residence permit.
  • English language requirements: applicants who are not native English speakers must document their proficiency in English by taking an internationally recognised English test. Below is the minimum requirements:

• TOEFL - Test of English as a Foreign Language, internet-based test (iBT), Minimum total score: 90
• IELTS academic - International English Language Testing System, Minimum overall band score: 6.5
• PTE Academic - Pearson Test of English Academic, Minimum overall score: 62

Applicants from English-speaking Africa, or applicants with a degree taught in English from India, Pakistan or the Middle East are not exempt from submitting an English language test.

Exemption
The following applicants are exempt from submitting an English language test.
  • Native speakers with completed upper secondary education from the UK, USA, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, Malta, Singapore or Trinidad and Tobago.
  • Applicants who have completed a minimum of one year's university studies in academic subjects with English as the language of instruction in the UK, USA, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand or Australia.
  • Applicants who have completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme with English at Higher Level (HL) with the minimum score of 4.
  • Applicants who have completed both upper secondary school and a bachelor’s degree taught in English from Fiji, Mauritius, Samoa or South Africa.
  • Applicants with completed upper secondary school from Hong Kong with an AS-level examination in Use of English with grades A-C or HKDSE English Language Subject Level grade 5.
  • Applicants with completed upper secondary school within the British system in Macao.

Please note that you do not need to send any documents by post, however, for certain countries, the university requires that specific documents are sent directly from the issuing institution.

Registering your application

  • Make sure you have all the requirements before you proceed with your application.
  • Register your application and upload your supporting documents in UiO's application portal. Enter your name as written in your passport.
  • Use one email address to avoid creating multiple user IDs/applications.
  • Follow guidelines and upload required documents.

Your application will be considered invalid if you have not uploaded any supporting documents within the deadline. Invalid applications will not be processed.
