Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) is offering a wide range of degree programmes to international students who intend to obtain a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree at ELTE and who want to complete their entire programme in English. The degree programmes at ELTE are accredited by the Hungarian Accreditation Committee. Diplomas issued at the university are acknowledged worldwide. The University also offers joint degree programs together with other European universities. Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) is a Hungarian public research university based in Budapest, the capital city. Founded in 1635, ELTE is one of the largest and most prestigious public higher education institutions in Hungary. The 28,000 students at ELTE are organized into eight faculties, and into research institutes located throughout Budapest and on the scenic banks of the Danube. ELTE is Hungary's largest scientific establishment with 118 PhD programs at 17 doctoral schools, and also offers 38 bachelor's programs, 96 master's programs, and over 50 degree programs in foreign languages. The course credits awarded are transferable to universities in Europe through the Bologna process.

How to apply for admission
- Select your degree program.
Select the degree programmes that you are
interested in and would like to study.
- Read the program description.
Read the description of the selected program to learn more about the program.
- Read details under “Admissions”.
Read details about admission requirements, application procedures, and the procedure of the entrance examination under "Admissions" in the program description
carefully for the selected program.
- Start your application in the online application system.
Register in the online application system.
Select the degree programme(s) you want to apply for. Fill in the online application form
and upload the required documents. Follow the instructions that you receive in application system during the application process.
- Submit your application online.
When you have completed your application, don’t forget to click on the “submit” button to submit your application.
- Pay the application fee. (for certain programmes)
For some programs, applicants need to pay an application fee. Please check under
“Admissions” whether it is required to pay an application fee for your selected program and check details about the payment transfer.
- Take the entrance examination.
For most programmes, there is an entrance examination organized in person (if possible) or online. After you submit the application, you will receive information about the entrance exam.
