Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarships worth over £2M will be awarded to international students across undergraduate and postgraduate taught levels of study at Cardiff University. The scholarships award of £2,000 or above will be offered to individual student on basis of tuition fee reduction. The scholarship is for full-time students and will be award based on merit. Cardiff University is a public research university in Cardiff, Wales, United Kingdom. Founded in 1883 as the University College of South Wales and Monmouthshire, it is the third oldest university institution in Wales. The university is composed of three colleges: Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences; Biomedical and Life Sciences; and Physical Sciences and Engineering. The university is consistently recognised as providing high quality research-based university education and is ranked between 100 and 200 in the world by the four major international rankings, and in the top 50 in all three UK tables. Cardiff University was ranked 188th in Best Global Universities internationally and 19th nationally.
Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarships
Awards from £2,000 are available to international students across a wide range of subject areas. Qualifying recipients of the scholarship will receive the award in the form of a tuition fee discount. No cash alternative is available and the award cannot be used in place of any required deposit. The Scholarship is for full-time students who will be based on the Cardiff campus and start their studies in September 2018. The award cannot be used for any other year of entry.
Only self-funding international students are eligible and applicant must be confirmed as an overseas student for fee paying purposes. The scholarship is not open to students who are in receipt of funding from external bodies such as local Government, charities or private organisations.
Undergraduate
International applicants holding offers for selected undergraduate programmes will automatically be eligible for the Vice-Chancellor's Scholarship. This means you do not need to submit a separate application to be considered for an award. If you meet, or exceed, the conditions stated in your UCAS offer, or, if you are holding an unconditional offer, you will automatically be awarded the scholarship as a tuition fee discount. This is subject to you meeting all eligibility criteria as set out in the terms and conditions.
