Middle East Technical University (METU) is a public technical university located in Ankara, Turkey. The university puts special emphasis on research and education in engineering and natural sciences, offering about 40 undergraduate programs within 5 faculties, and 97 masters and 62 doctorate programs within 5 graduate schools. The language of instruction at METU is English. All enrolled students are required to have a degree of proficiency in English for academic purposes, and this is assured by a proficiency examination before the commence of studies. Students with unsatisfactory knowledge of English follow a preparatory English education for one year, given by the METU School of Foreign Languages.



Faculties and departments
METU has 42 academic departments, most of which are organized into 5 faculties. These are responsible for the undergraduate programs.

• Faculty of Education: Computer Education and Instructional Technology, Educational Sciences, Elementary Education, Foreign Language Education, Physical Education and Sports, Secondary Science and Mathematics Education

Application requirements
A passing score from any of the following exams is sufficient for undergraduate . However, if you have more than one exam result, it is possible to submit all of them while you are making your application. Exam results such as SAT are valid for two years. Documents holding the status of a high-school diploma are valid with any date.

• Secondary/High school certificate

Required documents
In order to complete your application, scan each document below with its translation (to Turkish or English). Then, upload and attach these documents to the online application form in pdf or jpg formats.

Photograph
The photograph should be taken in the last 6 months to enable the applicant to be clearly recognized and uploaded in the online application

Passport
Candidates must upload their passports data page.

High School Diploma and its translation (Turkish or English)
The original high school diploma and its translation (Turkish or English) if not already in those language need to be uploaded. Those who have not yet received their diploma need to upload an official letter (Transitory Graduation Certificate) taken from their high school stating the expected graduation date and the expected CGPA.

Official Transcript
Applicants need to submit an official transcript of high school courses and grades sealed and approved by their high-school administration. Transcript should be translated to English or Turkish by an official translator

Valid Exam Result
The exam result to be used in application (SAT, GCE, International Baccalaureate, etc.) needs to be uploaded.

Financial Guarantee Letter
The international students who want to study in Turkey must certify that their economic status is eligible for their study, according to the regulations of Higher Education Council. Therefore, applicants need to print-out the related form from the application program. After filling out the form you need to upload it back to the application program.

• Faculty of Arts and Science (Science Prog.) – 1.281 TL
• Faculty of Arts and Science (Arts Prog.) – 962 TL
• Faculty of Economics and Administrative Science – 1.155 TL
• Faculty of Education (4-year program) – 1.027 TL
• Faculty of Education (5-year program) – 1.027 TL
