International Master’s Degree Students Scholarship Programme at University of Jyväskylä, Finland.

University of Jyväskylä is delighted to offer scholarship to students from Non EU/EEU countries who wish to study in their masters program in English. The scholarship covers the full tuition fee and it is awarded for two academic years. Scholarships are granted based on the admission criteria of the programme in question. A maximum of 50% of admitted scholarship applicants in each programme may be granted a scholarship. The Scholarship is renewable for the second year so far the student attain a minimum of 55 ECTS credits during the first academic. The University of Jyväskylä (JYU) is a university in Jyväskylä, Finland founded in 1863. Around 15,000 students are currently enrolled in the degree programs of the university. It is ranked as the fourth largest university in Finland when measured according to the number of master's degrees conferred. The university offers a wide range of study programmes for bachelor's or master's degree conducted in English, many of which are unique in Finland. Natural Sciences, Human Sciences, Sports and Health Sciences as well as Teacher education are the university's areas of special expertise.

How to apply for admission and scholarship
You can apply for the scholarship in the same online application form with which you apply for admission to a Master’s programme at JYU.
You will be notified of the decision in the official letter of acceptance. A student must notify that he or she either accepts or declines the offered scholarship in connection of accepting the study place.

Admission Requirements for master program
  • Bachelor's degree or a polytechnic degree.
The degree has to be completed by 17 July 2018.
  • English language proficiency
Students selected to foreign-language medium Master’s degree programmes are not required to have proficiency in Finnish at the admission stage. All applicants must attach a proof of their proficiency in English language to their application. JYU accept the following language tests: TOEFL, IELTS Academic, CPE, CAE, PTE Academic, and
the National Certificate of Language Proficiency.

How to apply for admission
Application rounds for English-medium Master's degree programmes at the University of Jyväskylä are organised through a centralised admission service (University Admissions Finland, UAF) established by Finnish universities. First, an applicant fills in the online application form in the portal. Then he/she sends the hard copies of the required documents (or requests an institute issuing a certificate/document to send it) to the address of UAF (University Admissions Finland, Unioninkatu 40 C, FI-00170 Helsinki, Finland). After that, UAF checks if the applicants have sufficient language proficiency considering the requirements of the degree programme and if the applicants are eligible to apply for master’s degree education. UAF also checks the authenticity of the documents.
