Application for Undergraduate program
You should apply as a freshman undergraduate student if:
1. You have completed or will complete high school or secondary school before the semester you apply to start
2. You have not attended a university, college, or other postsecondary institution
3. You wish to earn a bachelor’s
degree.
Minimum admission requirements
- You must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 on a U.S. 4.0 scale (some programs require higher GPAs).
- For full admission you must earn a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 79, International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 6.5, Pearson’s PTE of 53, SAT Critical Reading section or SAT Evidence-Base Reading and Writing score of 500, or ACT English Section score of 21
- If you choose not to submit scores or your scores are below the requirements for either the TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE, the university will automatically consider you for conditional admission .
- SAT/ACT exams are not required for admission, but can be used for proof of English Proficiency.
- You must pay a nonrefundable application fee of U.S. $55.

Step 2: Submit Pre-admission documents
You must provide high school transcripts and diplomas from all institutions where you have studied in the past. They must be
submitted in English (10th, 11th, and
12th grade, or equivalent). Transcripts
from schools located in the United
States must be sent directly from the
institution to Ball State.
Step 3: Submit Post-admission documents
You must submit the following
documentation after you have been
admitted to Ball State:
- Passport Photocopy —You must provide a copy of the main passport page for you and any dependents (including your spouse) you plan to bring with you to Ball State.
- Financial Documentation —You must document your ability to pay for your living expenses and university fees through one of the following: 1. personal funding 2. private sponsorship (family and friends) 3. Ball State sponsorship
Step 4: Register for eShipGlobal to receive your admissions welcome package.
Admission deadline: March 23, 2018.
Application for graduate program
You should apply as an international graduate student if:
1. You have completed or will complete your undergraduate degree before the semester you apply to start
2. You wish to earn a graduate degree (master’s, doctoral, specialist, or certificate)
Minimum admission requirements
- You must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.75 on a U.S. 4.0 scale (some programs require higher GPAs).
- You must pay a nonrefundable application fee of $60.
- If you have earned a degree from a non-US institution, you must select one of the following evaluation agencies to get your transcripts and degree(s) evaluated either by Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE) or World Education Services (WES)
- If you have studied at an institution in the US, an official transcriptmust be sent directly from the institution to Ball State University's International Admissions office.
- Ball State University requires all international graduate applicants to demonstrate English proficiency by submitting a TOEFL, Pearson's PTE, or IELTS score. Minimum score: TOEFL 79, IELTS 6.5 bands, Pearson's PTE 53.
