- Submit current high school transcripts
Students who attended a high school
outside of the United States must submit an
official transcript from the institution
reflecting all courses attempted and grades
received. To be considered official,
transcripts must be sent to Minot State
University by the issuing institution.
Transcripts sent to Minot State University
from the student are not considered official
and will not be used to make an admission
decision.
Students that have taken the West African
Exams may send a copy of their WAEC
Senior School Certificate showing all tests
taken and all grades received. In addition,
scratchcard information will also need to be
provided.
Students who have taken the Cambridge
International Examinations may forward a
copy of their exam results to Minot State so
that official results can be pulled from the
Cambridge database. If results are not
available on the Cambridge database,
official results will have to be mailed to
Minot State directly from Cambridge.
All transcripts must be issued in English or
be accompanied by a literal word-for-word
translation completed by a certified
translation agency.
- Entrance exam
For undergraduate admission, only one test is required:
TOEFL, taken within 2 years: IBT minimum score of 71, Paper-based minimum score of 525
IELTS, taken within 2 years: Minimum score of 6.0 overall band
SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test): Minimum SAT Writing and Language score required is 25 and the minimum SAT Total is 900. If you took the SAT test before February 2016, the minimum SAT sub scores are Writing 430 and Math+Critical Reading 820
ACT: Composite score of 17, English sub test 18
ACCUPLACER: Write Placer of 5 or higher

- Photocopy of the page containing your personal information from your Passport. This information will be used to create your form I-20.
Application For Graduate Studies
Minot state University offers several masters level programs. If you are interested in applying for a masters program, you must meet all of the admissions requirements of the graduate school.

- To be considered for admission, international graduate applicants must submit one of the following:
TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) Scores, taken within 2 years: IBT minimum score of 79, Paper-based minimum score of 550 on the paper-based test
IELTS (International English Language Testing System) Taken within 2 years Minimum score of 6.0 overall band
Level 9 Completion Certificate, issued within the last 6 months, by The Language Company AND iTEP Level 5 from training and testing administered by the Language Company.
In some instances, international students who have earned a degree from an English speaking university (where the primary mode of instruction is English) in the past 10 years may also be considered for English proficiency waiver. Students should provide a letter of proof from the institution.
In lieu of previously defined satisfactory performance on the TOEFL, IELTS, or iTEP, international students who have attended formal education for three or more years in the U.S. may, at the discretion of the program, be considered for admission into the Graduate School with the recommendation of the program director who has been able to assess the students' English proficiency through voice conversation.Application deadline: June 15th 2018.
