The University of Sydney is delighted to announce the application for The Gilles Kryger Honours Scholarship in Finance. The scholarship is intended to promote academic excellence at the undergraduate Finance Honours level. The scholarship was established in 2006 by a donation placed in trust from alumnus, Mr. Gilles Kryger and the University of Sydney Business School. The Scholarship is valued at $15,000 per annum and is tenable for one year only. The annual payment will be made in two equal instalments after the census date of each semester. The University of Sydney (USyd or
USYD) is an Australian public research university in Sydney, Australia . Founded in 1850, it is Australia's first university and is regarded as one of the world's leading universities. It is ranked as the world's 50th most reputable university. Its graduates are additionally ranked the 4th most employable in the world and 1st in Australia. The university comprises 16 faculties and schools, through which it offers bachelor, master and doctoral degrees. In 2014 it had 33,505 undergraduate and 19,284 graduate students.
To be eligible for the Scholarship, applicants must apply, be accepted and subsequently enrol into the Finance Honours Program within the University of Sydney Business School. The Scholarship will be awarded by a Selection Committee consisting of the Head of the Discipline of Finance and at least one other academic member of staff from the Discipline of Finance. To continue receipt of the Scholarship, the recipient must maintain satisfactory academic progress to ensure successful on-time completion of their honours program.
Please note that the deferral of the Scholarship is not permitted without the prior permission of the Associate Dean (Education) and it is not transferable to another honours program, faculty/University school or University. The Scholarship will be terminated if the recipient:
- withdraws from an eligible course or fails to enrol,
- withdraws from the Honours Program in the Discipline of Finance,
- commences part-time study without prior approval,
- does not maintain satisfactory academic performance,
- is determined by the University to be guilty of serious misconduct, including, but not limited to, having provided false or misleading information as part of their Scholarship application,
- is awarded an alternative primary scholarship. In such circumstances the scholarship will be terminated in favour of the alternative scholarship where the alternative scholarship is of higher value,
- does not resume study at the end of a period of approved leave.
*Please note that you must have gain admission into The University of Sydney Finance Honours Program before you can be considered for the Scholarship.

Application For Admission
Academic Requirements
For admission into undergraduate courses one of the following is required:
- GCE A Levels - a minimum of three Advanced Level subjects are required (no more than four Advanced Level subjects will be considered)
- International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma - university entry is based on the total score for completed diploma.
- Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT or American College Test (ACT) including a pass mark in the optional essay component and evidence of graduation from a senior secondary qualification.
- Advanced International Certificate of Education, at required Pass, Merit or Distinction level
- Cambridge Pre-University Diploma, accepted (from 2010 onwards) with required score
- European Baccalaureate
English Language Requirements
Any of these is accepted for English language skills test:
- IELTS (International English Language Testing System) - Academic module
- TOEFL PB (Test of English as a Foreign Language: paper based)
- TOEFL iBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language: internet based)
- Pearsons Test of English (PTE) - Academic
- Cambridge English scale for Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) and Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE)
